Studied Architecture and Urbanism at the University of Ghent, Belgium and at the ETSAM in Madrid, Spain. Projectleader for Maxwan Architects and Urbanists in Rotterdam (1999- 2001). Project Architect for Neutelings Riedijk Architects in Rotterdam (2001-2005). He is currently visiting tutor at TU Delft and Ghent University, and visiting critic at the Berlage Insitute in Rotterdam. Since 2002 he runs OFFICE KERSTEN GEERS DAVID VAN SEVEREN, together with David Van Severen. The office won several international competitions, among which a border crossing in Mexico, a plan for a New Administrative Capital in South Korea (in collaboration with DOGMA ) and a new Center for Contemporary Art in Brussels. It is currently working on a wide range of different projects.
