Gonçalo Byrne - architect

Born in 1941
1968 - Graduates at the Escola Superior de Belas Artes in Lisbon.
1975 - Starts his own office, having projects built in Alcanena, Almada, Arraiolos, Aveiro, Braga, Castro Verde, Coimbra, Funchal (Madeira), Lagos, Lisbon, Oeiras, Setúbal, Tróia, Vidigueira, and Vila do Conde.
1985 - 87 Director of the Portuguese Architects Journal, and developed a theoretical and critical activity, publishing several critical essays in Portugal and abroad.
Has been invited for juries, conferences and seminars in Portugal and abroad, and has projects shown at several exhibitions: New York, Lisbon, Oporto, Lucca, S.Marino, Catania, Milan, Venice, Trevi, Messina (Sicily), Buenos Aires, Ljubliana.
