Maurice Nio - architect
chairman

principal NIO architecten

Maurice Nio (1959) graduated as architect at the TU Delft, Faculty of Architecture, cum laude in 1988. His master project was on villa for Michael Jackson, the most weird project that year.
That project created the basis for his hybrid approach; this is a mix of mythological and pragmatical way of thinking, cryptic and at the same time cristal clear design strategies. With this approach Maurice realised amazing projects, like the huge waste incenerator installation (working at BDG Architects, 1991-1996) and Europe's longest public transport line, the so called Southern Tangent (working at VHP city planners and architects, 1997-1999).
Maurice started his own architectural practice in januari 2000.
Besides creating architecture he loves writing, graphic design and movie production.
