Dirk Jaspaert (°1957)

Studied at the University of Ghent and obtained a degree in Architectural Civil engineering in 1980.

He is the founder and director of BAS. The office has become increasingly successful as a structural consultant.

During the past years collaborations that may be mentioned include architects as Gonzalo Byrne , David Chipperfield, Studio Secchi- Vigano, Zenghelis -Gigantes, Stéphane Beel, Paul Robbrecht- Hilde Daem, José Van Hee, bOb Van Reeth, Neutelings- Riedijk, Christian Kieckens, Eugeen Liebaut, T.O.P.- office- Luc Deleu, Henk De Smet- Paul Vermeulen, BOB 361, Martine De Maeseneer, Nollet-Huyghe, Landscapers as Wirtz International and Artists as Franz West, Dan Graham, Stephan Balkenhol, Luc Deleu, An Veronica Janssens, John Körmeling.

In 2003 Dirk Jaspaert was nominated for the cultural prize of the Flemish Community.

He teaches architectural structural engineering at the Brussels St Lucas School for architecture (now part of the WENK school) and at the KUL -University of Leuven.
