Bart Biermans (°1969)

Graduated as an architect at Henry Van De Velde Instituut, Antwerp (B) in 1992.

From 1996 till 2002 he was a partner of the successful office “META Architectuurbureau” and thus project-architect for widely published projects such as Pedico Scherpenheuvel (1996-2000), office building G43 for Siemens Huizingen (2000-2002) and several master plans for Siemens Brain Parcs (2001-2002).

In 2003 he founded STARGAZE, a studio oriented on projective research and spatial strategies. STARGAZE was a member of the Bunkerhotel Research and Designteam for the project Metropolitan Diamond, an urbanistic research project shown at the Rotterdam Biennale 2003.

In 2004 he founded HUB, together with fellow architects Koen Drossaert and Miguel Loos. HUB is an office for architecture, spatial research and urban planning. The office is located in Antwerp and Amsterdam and is currently active in Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany.

Bart Biermans is a visiting lecturer at the “Academie voor Bouwkunst” of Maastricht (NL).
